Leña Restaurante Toronto Reviews from The Last Year
Delicious and fabulous service...
We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious dinner and very nicely priced wine and look forward to returning. Thanks for a lovely evening...

There were 8 of us there for dinner. None of us will return. I don’t mind paying for good food and good service but this was not the case. It was very overpriced for what we had. Three of us ordered steaks and not one was cooked to our requested doneness. The service wasn’t great either. Don’t waste your time or money.
Horrible brunch!
If you are looking for slow service and burnt food: that’s the place to be! We came here for brunch and what a disappointment that was. We had the Full Gaucho Breakfast plate, which was composed of burnt eggs, burnt bacon, burnt potatoes, burnt tomatoes and extra dry (hard rock) unbuttered bread. Half of the plate was inedible. When we asked for some butter to at least have some of the dry bread, guess what: butter was charged extra. Overall, a horrible experience. Do. Not. Recommend.
Skip the Host and you’ll have a good experience
The Bad: The Maître d’hôtel aka non smiling hosts told us that there’s no more dining table seats. There’s only bar seats, we didn’t argue or challenge the fact that we saw at least 2 available tables, it sat empty for the whole duration of lunch hour that we spent eating our lunch by the bar. Hence we were judge because mainly of what we look like and how we ate plainly dressed for our corporate jobs unlike the rest of business clients that was sitting at the dining table. Paranoid not really, just stating the obvious. The Good: The food are always good there and the young Gentleman at the bar was incredibly amazing and Lady who help us pay was nice the 3 Star is for the whole experience which is unfortunate. Wish I can upload video of my lunch but there’s no option here
Disappointing Latin fare
This restaurant came recommended by the Concierge at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel. She had never been to the restaurant but was on her recommendation list and we wanted something different. Lena is part of the Oliver and Bonacini group. It is a distinctly Latin style restaurant. It was a busy place and we were lucky they could seat us at the bar as all the tables had been reserved. Our bartender was also our server and she was delightful. She was just training but she was good at her job. She recommended Sangria for our cocktail and we agreed. It was delicious The menu was a nice mix and we decided to share 4 small plates. two of the dishes...the Yucca Fries and Empanada's were fabulous. The but other two were not so good. The Broken Avocado salad was very oily and lacked flavour. The Chorizo Asado was very disappointing. The Chorizo could not be cut with the dull non-serrated butter knife they provided and the 'melted' cheese was not melted and could not be cut either...I do not like fighting with my food in an attempt to eat it. For the prices we paid, I expected much better. Sadly, I will likely not be returning here. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere but the food was disappointing.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
