Not worth the wait

3/5 by 👻 @re1na on 06/22/2024

Arrived at 850am and already 13 people in front. All walk in bowls sold by 1030am so definitely go early to queue if no reservation. Service was good and ramen was alright. Would not queue 2.5h again just to eat this.

No ramen is worth this. Get your own truffle oil.

2/5 by 👻 @traveltemplar on 05/24/2024

The ramen is fine. The 6 seat counter, however, is absurdly small. Kitchen is spotless behind the bar. But we waited over 3 hours, which I suppose is understandable for such a small location. Ramen, by its nature, cannot be that good. Now, an online reservation “lottery” system, currently seemingly dominated by bots, has made a mess of the experience. We have seen reservations being sold—SOLD!—online for over $100 USD. The TableCheck system normally is fine, but for this place it has become a nest for scalpers. Ramen is simply not that interesting, especially the silly truffle-oil versions. It is certainly not worthy, in terms of kitchen effort or rare ingredients, of these sorts of games and scalping. I’m not sure if the owner is aware of what is going on, but I have honestly never heard anyone report that the ramen here is “sugoi”. Meh is more like it.

Not worth the hype. Go to any other ramen place and don’t waste your time and money.

Expected more from a michelin star restaurant. Nothing special, definitely not worth the price of 5000 yen for two, and such a weird reservation. I woke up early 6 Saturdays in a row to make reservations, but all slots were taken in 30 seconds. Weird rules as well, e.g you cannot order two ramens of the same type. Too much hype in the internet, there are ramens in Tokyo which are definitely as good as this one, but you can eat it immediately. BTW there is no Michelin star anymore in 2024.

Fun Experience! Tasty Chasu!

5/5 by 👻 @Jim on 04/18/2024

This is one for the foodies out there. We tried to get the online reservation (which opens on Saturday mornings) for the following week but couldn’t secure a spot. We went to Plan B and arrived early to secure two of the thirty “walk-in” openings. We arrived at 9 am and were 25 and 26 in line. By 9:20 they were turning people away. With only six seats, patience is key. We were seated at noon. Our Chasu Ramen was delicious. Watch the Condé Nast video on YouTube to see if you’d enjoy the experience. We recommend!

Yes it is worth the hype

You book through table check app on Saturday 0900 Tokyo time, they take a deposit, and on the day itself the final payment also by table check (no need to flash credit card). This ramen restaurant sits 6 pax a time. Each bowl is carefully cooked ramen, piping hot soup, with very good charsiu, sublime foie gras ravioli, simple onsen egg and bambo shoot. You can order charsiu on rice, and pour some of your ramen soup on it, very nice additional bowl if you starved through breakfast to be here at noon.

Worth trying to get reservation

5/5 by 👻 @Brandon Z on 03/20/2024

Booking was gone in less than 3 seconds! 9 am Tokyo time on Saturday releases the following week. You can still try lining up for walk ins before 12:30 reservation start. I like the system I came 10 minutes earlier and was seated as someone finished earlier. The service is amazing, the 6 seat shop is amazing as you watch the chefs work with nice music in the background and a warm wooden interior. The ravioli ramen was amazing. Clean and flavourful broth. Noodles just right. The ravioli silky with rich filling and that egg…damn golden orange perfectly runny inside. No one was talking inside and it was full focus on the ramen & the chefs. Great dining experience. I was in and out in 15-20 mins. They don’t rush you but had my order from outside so when I sat down I watched them plate my bowl.

Must go early

Was some good ramen yes but you can definitely find ramen not too far off from this quality and taste else where too if you happen to miss it, but would still recommend especially now with the easier ticket system. Went friday 9/16 just before 9am and managed to get one of the last few spots. Got a 2:20pm ticket. They sold out at 9am. I believe I heard they only give out 60 or 70 spots a day. It is a cash vending machine ticket inside you line up for to pre-pay. They have a machine inside to break 5000 and 10000 bills.

Michelin Star Ramen at its finest

5/5 by 👻 @Adrenalinwill on 07/25/2023

Worth every minute and effort during this amazing journey to sample one of the finest ramen restaurant in all of Tokyo. A rare Michelin star ramen restaurant with more than enough “horror stories” of two to three hour lines posted online. We expected the worse and of course hopes for the best during this 96 degree Tokyo Wednesday. Arriving at 9:20am to stand in line until the posted opening time of 11:00, we were kindly greeted and brought inside to purchase the ramen tickets (in cash) and im exchange for the tickets, we were given a paper slip with #22 and #23 for 11:55. Apparently, 21 people already made the journey that day. There was no need to stand in line, they simply asked that we come back at the specified time to wait and be seated. A short taxi ride back to the air conditioned hotel, we enjoyed the morning until we returned at 11:55 where we were seated within 5 minutes and served just as quickly. Most finish their meals within 20 minutes and the process repeats. The ramen, amazing. The broth, perfect. The meat, bamboo shoot, and intricately diced green onion, amazingly delicate and flavorful. The egg, by far the best we’ve had. The price, well let’s just say we spent more on the round trip taxi fare. Talk about an amazing experience…oh and yes, by the time we came back at 11:55, they were sold out for the day. Onwards!

Delicious and very satisying ramen but be prepared to wait

5/5 by 👻 @Michael L on 04/03/2023

This is a 6 seater ramen restauant in Ginza that is elegantly decorated. The chef's previous as a French chef shows through the way he presented the exquisite bowl of ramen. The all in option we chose was priced very reasonably at 1400 yen. We also ordered a small bowl of rice with chasu which cost 500 yen - so, total 1,900 yen each for a 1 Michelin star dining experience. Very reasonable. The bowl of ramen has a rather clear soup with a light yet complex flavour. The texture of the ramen was excellent - al dente. The ramen comes with an egg (ajitsuke tamago ), but the highlight for me were the two thick slices of chasu that were so tender and flavourful. However, be prepared to wait in line for at least 2 hours. We started queuing at 9 am and were the 10th and 11th in line. The first seating starts at 11.30 am. We made it to the second seating and were served our ramen at around 11.50 am. It took us less than 20 mins to finish our meal. Only pictures of the food is permitted to be taken.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Ginza Hachigo Chuo City at 6 PM the same day.

He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Ginza Hachigo Chuo City page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.

That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.

3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Ginza Hachigo Chuo City to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.

4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Ginza Hachigo Chuo City!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
