Very disappointing experience at Flame and worst dining
Very disappointing experience at Flame and worst dining experience on our trip to Vail. Had the delicious Haute Chocolate at the bar and decided to come try Flame for dinner. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Our group of 5 ordered different dishes including the octopus, miso cod, tomahawk and pasta and all were completely lacking in flavor (and for this reason we decided to skip dessert altogether). Mentioned this to our server at the end and the manager did come to apologize, gave us a 20% discount, and offered to somehow take care of us over the next few days if we decided to come back (which we won't be doing). When on vacation you're looking to have a good experience, and sadly this wasn't it (and felt more like 3 star hotel dining). Stick to the Remedy bar and its cocktails and haute chocolate.
Ambience but better food at reasonable prices can be found at nearby restaurants.
The Flame has great ambience, but is tremendously overpriced. The Chilean sea bass was at best average. The whole Colorado trout was nice and the best value. Signature steaks are on the menu for two people and start at over $200.

We spend NYE at this restaurant, and it was a terrible experience, a fixed menu, the lobster bisque was super salty and cold, they served us a pear with a ultra bad quality blue cheese, really a bad plate, a ridiculous portion of meet, but the service cant be worse, obviously the price was hi, 2k for 4 people including my kids. So if they can't handle a NYE dinner, do not do it!
We came for a date night and had an excellent experience.
The service was second to none. Our food was good quality and prepared well. Extensive wine list and knowledgeable servers. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and romantic. We had a great time.
There's so much to say about this restaurant.
Starting off, we had reservations and were seated right away. After being seated -- we were not greeted by our waiter for quite some time. We waited and waited. Side note, it was not a busy night either. After being greeted, it still took long for our waiter to come by and take our order. I will just say throughout our whole duration there, my husband and I felt li we were not a priority as much as others dining. There were so many waiters/waitresses as well. We honestly would give service 1/5. The ambiance was really nice. I would say it's more on the fancier side but people were wearing dresses to casual clothes. It's a very homey, warm, and ranch feel. Food: Salmon 2/5 -- I love my food hot or even warm and I felt like the temp of my salmon was cold to warm. It was hmf appetizing to the temp. I did enjoy how well the skin was cooked. Very crispy. Bison Bone in Ribeye 5/5 -- we like our steak medium well and it was definitely cooked to perfection. It was seasoned well and I definitely enjoyed every bite. Whipped Yukon Potatoes 3/5 -- the texture was perfect. Thick and creamy but it definitely could have way more flavor to it. Not much flavor to these potatoes Brussel Sprouts 3/5 -- they were a little charred making it seem it would be more crispy but it was more on the chewy side. Wish it was more crispy Carrot Cake 2/5 -- nothing fancy honestly. The texture of the white chocolate covering was nice but there wasn't enough flavor to the cake. Overall, I would not come back to this restaurant.
Terrible Service and Food!
We had a big Birthday for my brother and we’re really excited to go to this very high end steakhouse in the Four Seasons Hotel. Very expensive and the top 5 worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life. I travel a ton for work and experience a lot for restaurants and you would think for the $$$ to pay, service would be top notch. The girl that refilled our water was the best server we had. We received our 1st glass of wine before ordering and never had our waiter return to check on us until the end of our dinner. He walked by our table 3X with no Acknowledgement ever! Then as I took my last 3 bites, finally asked if we would like another drink. Really! We came here to celebrate and have a great BDay and I couldn’t even get a glass of wine with my dinner. I let him know I was displeased as I was done with dinner and he says, ohhh and walks off. Lastly my chicken that cost $40 was overcooked and dry. My wife’s rice in her dish was undercooked and hard to eat. If you want to spend this kind of money, don’tgo here, many more choices with a lot better food and service!

Raoul, Emir, and company welcomed us into their family with a sea of accoutrement to complement another memorable dinner in beautiful Vail, CO. We visit every year, and we always walk away with such a wonderful memory of laughs and flavors! Thank you all! -David Kanefsky Insurance Agency 720-625-0221
Incredible service by our waitress Shantel and Salome.
Super friendly staff. The food was incredible. The bread and the different butters was incredible. You have to get the steak tartare, by far the best I've ever had and they make it table service. The elk is delicious!

The food was all very good, with the exception of the hamachi. It was fishy and the sauce combination wasn't that great. But I completely understand since hamachi isn't local for Colorado so it's definitely flown in and that takes its toll. Service was a bit slow. And the ambiance was okay - the bar upstairs (Remedy) was much better. For those two things, I took away a star. The steak tartar was prepared tableside and very delicious. The chicken, mashed potato's and broccolini were all delicious.
Now called Miller & Lux Vail.
I didn't take any pictures of my food, but I did have one of the menu. I am not sure if this menu changes often, but it doesn't reflect what is on Yelp and OpenTable. Listed below we're the things my party ordered and my opinion. Plateau De Mer: Oysters were very small, about the size of a 50 cent coin, top with nori. They were pretty good. Kampachi was bland in my opinion. I didn't know there was coconut broth until looking at the menu now. Shrimp cocktail tastes like shrimp cocktail. The lobster is bland if you do not eat it with the bearnaise sauce. Hors D'Oeuvres: French Onion Soup was amazing! The top of the soup was similar to a souffle Steak Tartare was okay, no way to really describe it. To me it likes the American version of raw larb. Sides: Whipped Potato Puree actually have the texture of puree compared to normal mashed potatoes. Baked Macaroni and Cheese pretty good, not amazing. Black Truffle Parmesan Fries tasted like regular fries. Texture was very crispy. Crispy Brussels Sprouts was ordered by my friends and they said there wasn't anything special about it. Steaks: (all steaks are served sliced except for filet mignon) I had the 20oz New York Strip medium-rare with bearnaise. It was coook perfectly for a steak on bones. The steak was good, but not amazing for it's price. A friend ordered the Wagyu Tomahawk. There wasn't anything special about this. The majority of the party ordered lamb chops which had 2 pair of ribs each. Lamb chops were ordered to be cooked medium-rare or medium. Unfortunately, these came out rare. Our party understood that since there were so many of us, it would take a long time to get our food. We did not want to wait longer to have them cook the lamb chops some more. Overall, the food was okay and the experience was great. The customer service was excellent for a large party!

We came here for the first time for our anniversary and we're absolutely blown away! First of all, the service was absolutely amazing. The manager gave us an amazing seat with a view, greeted us with champagne and wished us a happy anniversary. Our server Chantel was amazing, so attentive and kind. We had the beef fat candle, which is a MUST and the waygu steak and the macaroni and cheese literally blew us away. They made a dessert for us which was the espresso cake with a happy anniversary note on it, which was phenomenal. We are already planning our next trip back. This is a must do and worth every penny!
