Clark's Oyster Bar Aspen Reviews
Went here for lunch with the girls.
Excellent espresso martinis, the crab cake is to die for, the kale and goat cheese omelette was so rich and creamy with perfectly crunchy smashed potatoes, and you cannot forget the sourdough bread. Service from Samuel was attentive. Loved the quaint decor and it's a local lunch favorite.

My husband and I went to Clark's for our honeymoon in the winter time. The service was great. Our waitress congratulated us on getting married and gave us a dessert on the house! The food was impeccable. The oysters were small, but they were very fresh and tasty. My husband got the grilled oysters, and I had the linguine and clams. We also shared a side of horseshoe fries. We both enjoyed every moment!
I enjoyed this restaurant.
Can't say it was amazing, but I did have a couple items that we truly enjoyed. Ichiban oysters, wedge salad and lobster roll among them. Not my favorite restaurant in Aspen but worth checking out if you are a fish or oyster lover.
My favorite all round restaurant in Aspen.
I love the Octopus. The crab salad is refreshing with a lot of crab add avocado. The branzino is divine but save room for dessert. I would never have chosen butterscotch for dessert because it just sounds way to sweet. It is delicious and different!!! Just do it! The only thing I was not a fan of were the crab cakes. I feel like those are a flop and they could do much better.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch that came with great recommendations. Servers are very helpful and service was fast. Our oysters were fresh and delicious with all the added toppings. We even ordered another round since they were so tasty! East coast oysters were definitely our favorites! Will be returning on my next trip to Aspen.
Best cole slaw in Aspen
The cole slaw that comes with the lobster roll is fantastic because it was so fresh tasting, and the seasoning and dressing were superb.

HUGE fan of Clark's!!! I've frequented the Austin location and discovered the Aspen location last summer. It's definitely a must when visiting!! It seems as if Clark's may be one of the only true Oyster Bars in Aspen -- if you've been to Clark's before, this location boasts the same quality and lovely experience as any of the other locations. Of course the oysters are AMAZING! The bread they bring to the table is so mouth watering delicious Also a big fan of their Lobster Roll. They don't have a ton of none seafood option for decent meals except a Burger. TIP WHEN VISITING WITH KIDS: you can order a bacon grilled cheese sandwich and it's made on their delicious sourdough. Huge hit for my kids when we visit! They also have a lovely bar and delicious cocktail menu + a bomb Happy Hour special (50 cent oysters and half off cocktails)! Great spot for a meal or just to sit and enjoy a drink and company at the bar.

We randomly stopped here for lunch today and were able to walk right in without a reservation. All of the staff from the host to our server were incredibly nice and attentive. The restaurant has an upscale bar in Nantucket-vibe and the menu has a lot of great options. We had amazing Bloody Mary's (they are light and go down fast), fresh oysters, and then I had the crab cake (it was perfect and not full of breading like most - the sauce complemented it very well) and my husband the linguini mussel dish. Everything was top notch - we look forward to our next visit.
The food is great and service to match.
When you're in Aspen don't miss this location when looking for a choice to dine.

Never in the history of take out have I had a better experience In Aspen CO. I normally eat there, food is phenomenal. We ordered to go, as we just had a baby and my wife was craving crab mac and cheese, awesome! I showed up 5 mins before they said it would be ready, they had me wait at the bar where the very friendly bar tender Elliot had me dialed with a beer. Very good crew working.
My Favorite in Aspen
This is a great spot in Aspen - fresh seafood, good service and good people-watching. Definitely try the oysters and the chowder is pretty darned good. We also had the linguini and clams.

Fabulous food and service ! Can't wait to go back !!!! When you're in Aspen definitely visit Clarks and they have a wonderful happy hour !
leave hungry
The place is great but I am so disappointed when I go as I love the crab cake but prior to Covid it was a nice large size, well it has shrunk about 35%, it's puny and the "salad" is real tiny too, I leave hungry.! The price stayed the same.....

Every time we come to Aspen this is our favorite lunch spot after snowboarding. Staff and food are always on point. Food is delicious. HAVE FO COME HERE WHEN YOU COME TO ASPEN. Casual lunch in perfection!
Always a winner!! Amazing array of oysters.
The complimentary house bread is delicious. The red snapper on a bed of grits is my new favorite discovery here but a really well prepared fresh piece of fish is never a bad idea.

We came here for an afternoon snack and some drinks and we loved the vibe here. Coming from south Florida, we really appreciated the nautical decor and interior this place had. We sat by the bar and were happy with the service. The fried oysters were a hit. Also loved the anchovy asparagus salad with the lemon zest. 10/10 would recommend!
Amazing.
The vibe, the service, the food it's out of this world. You have to go here if you are in Aspen. Go early, it gets crowded and line of people waiting to get in. We had a ton of oysters with champagne and then we got lobster rolls (best I've ever had), and bloody Mary's were also delicious. Others got a few different things and the truffle shoestring fries are to die for. Highly recommend this place.

Put this on the top of the list! The fish was so fresh and was some of the best linguine and clam sauce I have ever tasted! I got the jalapeรฑos on the side and they are able to accommodate. The shells and crab were baked perfectly. The oysters were small and cold and would have even ordered more! Make sure to make a reservation well in advance as they sell out quickly. The only thing I wouldn't re order was the red snapper ceviche as it was actually pretty sweet instead of a classic limey ceviche but the other apps were delicious! The lobster roll was cold but came with hot butter. The key like pie had such unique yummy additions to it I loved it! The whole building makes you feel like you are up on the east coast and not in snowy Aspen, it was 10/10 overall.
Fun and trendy.
The best fresh fish and always a great scene and be seen. Hard to get in sometimes but worth the wait
I love this place and will come here often when I'm in
I love this place and will come here often when I'm in town! You can have oysters from all over the east and west coast in one sitting, the red snapper ceviche was AMAZING, happy hour burgers are great. Can't say enough good things about this place
Great oyster!
Mostly a good experience. Fun decor. Attentive and quality service. Raw and baked oysters were great. I really liked the linguine with clams, my wife did not. The snapper and trout entrees were good (but literally forgettable). I might return.
Food was incredible.
Great ambiance and drinks and good service. We sat at the bar and it was a great experience. Would definitely be back. We had the bib lettuce salad lobster roll and shrimp cocktail

Outstanding in every aspect.
This is the best restaurant in every aspect, if you like seafood it is definitely the place to be. Best food, freshest seafood, amazing service. Just great. ๐ You have to go when visiting Aspen.
Perfect New Yearโs Day lunch
Stopped here while shopping in Aspen - didnโt have a reservation but managed to get seated at the bar. Atmosphere was great, very busy and we probably wouldnโt have got a table if we had arrived half an hour later. Great wine list. Delicious bowl of chilli. Very happy to have found it!
Good value
Very good food. Service too. Arrived just after 1:pm. There was no wait for a table. Started with a wedge salad, which had pork belly. WalkIng distace to hotels, shops, ski lift.
Great food & fun atmosphere
We had not researched lunch spots and just popped into Clarkes on the off chance the had a table. We were seated immediately, delicious fresh sourdough to nibble on and the best crab cake my husband had ever had. I ordered the clam linguine which was truly excellent. Lots of families and couples eating so a good buzz. Would recommend.
Won't Return
I'm a retired hotelier with 40 years experience in luxury hotels and am shocked at our experience. The attitude of our server ("Dale F" according to the credit card receipt) was a combination of resentful and indifferent. We didn't do anything to provoke such an attitude and it made no sense to us that she would act in such a manner. We spent over $500 for dinner and did not receive as much as a thank you. All dishes very tasty and well prepared. Clams with linguini, crab cakes, swordfish, wedge salad, shrimp Louie, chowder and oysters were all very good. Drinks way over priced. Least expensive cab by the glass was $30! Management ought to take a look at that. Lots of very good places with excellent service in Aspen. We won't be returning to Clarke's.
Go for the Food, not the Cocktails!
Would have given a higher rating to this quaint restaurant, but would give them 1-star on our martinis and how they handled our feedback. For a $22 drink, this restaurant served what I would call the "kids menu" of cocktails. Very measly pour on all three of our martinis. When we commented to staff, they said "we have had other complaints, but that is how management does it". Then, a manager came by to explain our exact 3 oz. pour (half the glass), not in any way to apologize or make it right. Don't you love it when you give feedback and you are told how wrong you are?!! Ambiance was nice, a bit dark. Lobster roll was large and delicious. My octopus was good, though salty. Asparagus very generous and tasty, nicely prepared with sardines. Salads were shareable and fresh. My advice -- go here for the food and SKIP the overpriced, underserved cocktails.
Clarks hit the spot!
After a day exploring the town and hiking through some trails up the mountain. Clarks hit the spot! My overall experience was a 9/10 and will definitely be back. The atmosphere is great and met this nice couple at the bar. We stat at a high top table for lunch and ordered oysters, a cup of New England clam chowder and split the burger. The oysters were tasty and the perfect size. Next the clam chowder was flavorful and came with a size of oyster crackers the chowder was filling and perfect temperature. The burger was a good choice to split after the oysters and the clam chowder. We finished our late lunch around 4:45pm and chatted with some people at the bar. It definitely starts to get busy right around 5pm recommend making reservations ahead of time.
So glad we stopped in for lunch
We walking the street looking for a lunch place when we happened upon Clark's. Oh, what a lucky break. Gabriel helped us pick out some oysters, chowder was delicious, and the octopus was spectacular. We sat outside and people/dog watched while sipping a first-class cocktail. Great find on our first trip to Aspen.
Clarks in Aspen is a must visit !
Last meal of a wonderful 10 day driving trip and it was the best meal by far. We both had fish which were excellent. And app was an amazing steak tar tar. Only criticism was the signature shoe string fries. Almost impossible to eat since they are so thin and crispy. Mentioned to waitress. She said they do get a lot of complaints about that but itโs signature side of Clarkโs so not changing. But a small blemish on an otherwise wonderful meal.
What a great meal! Clark's seems to be one of Aspen's best
What a great meal! Clark's seems to be one of Aspen's best high energy casual restaurants. Food was great, people were all so nice - the crowd was beautiful and full of energy! You could tell it was well heeled guests and healthy happy locals! We kept it simple - great chowder - awesome yet not heavy. Loved the celery crunch (ok, could have used a few more clams)!!! But - delicious. Crudo - excellent and interestingly good presentation, chunks, not slices - we loved it! Wedge was a standard wedge, but we got 3 great shrimp with it. Delightful server - everyone really was just so nice - a fun experience - dekiciouand approachable food. Ok to Gucci up or go apres ski in a hoodie too! Lord of love (and great food)!
Every time I am in Aspen I come here.
And every time it is amazing. We happened to be there during happy hour so we tried the 1/2 off burger. Tasted great! The service is fast and on point. I like the vibe here, it's sophisticated yet down to earth. I was surprised the hostess didn't have availability when their were many empty tables the entire time we were there, but so be it. The bar area is super tight, yet somehow it's always a good time.
Super cute restaurant and cozy atmosphere.
Obviously it's expensive but the espresso martini was super delicious. Shoe string fries were literally the tiniest fries they were more like a topping to a salad but I recommend getting a dish like mussels and you can use have the fries in the sauce or top your pasta with them lol. Service was amazing and they had these amazing sweaters on which I believe was the restaurants merch.
We always enjoy Clark's Oyster Bar!
We always enjoy Clark's Oyster Bar. The clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, crab Mac and cheese, hamburgers and clam linguine are our favorites. It has an airy, modern, New England atmosphere with the high quality seafood to back it up. Service is always friendly and attentive too.

My wife and I stopped in and they had a cancellation so we got seated right away. I had Shrimp cocktail, Chili and the Chicken. Wife had lobster. Both were great. Cool vibe. A bit loud but nice evening overall.
Best Fish in Aspen
Went back to Clarkโs and it was fantastic again. Honored reservation to the minute. Service was perfect from wait staff to bus service. Grilled Octopus, Bib Salad great appetizers. Lobster Roll, Branzino and Crispy Snapper were fantastic. As prices go in Aspen fairly priced.
this linguine & clams was actually the best I've ever had
this linguine & clams was actually the best I've ever had in my life. whatever was in the sauce & with the jalapeรฑos. Amazing! Best meal I've had in aspen.
Came here with a big group as we heard so much about this
Came here with a big group as we heard so much about this wonderful place. Lets start by saying the ambiance is impeccable. The staff was very polite and respectful. We were served by Georgy. She was such a wonderful server. We ordered a dozen and half oysters, shrimp cocktail, caviar, wedge salads, sea bass and a muscles and clams dish. Everything was so good. Wish they offered something like a whole fish. I know they used to serve branzinko before we tried this location , but that wasn't the case when we went. Everything was excellent regardless.
I have been to Clark's before, and was excited to go again
I have been to Clark's before, and was excited to go again when visiting Aspen. First time, hands down a 5 plus, second time, I almost decided not to come back ever again- I was very displeased with seating and not being moved when a meal was ordered. A male staff member, made things a bit better by offering concern when I commented to him about the experience. I offered to the hostess I wasn't sure how much we would order, and may only snack- this was because we had recently eaten.... so- we were told the restaurant was fully booked (I am not in total belief of this- due to large amount of empty tables observed and the way seating flowed while we were at the tiny tables- which effected my dissatisfaction). and we were offered a small tiny little table behind the bar, with barstools. We accepted this table. However, we decided to order a meal to share... still a small order along with drinks, but believe we should of been offered a table at that point. I asked when I ordered if there would be room, and was told it could work by the server. We tried, but wish we had been offered a table. These very small 1/2 size high top small tables are barely suitable for even appetizer's, and I believe these were meant to be drinks tables only- the space is smaller than what you get sitting at the bar. I noticed guests moving from the very small high top tables to the bar to eat... also moving to the dining room tables from the bar and the tiny tables... I was extremly displeased with the seating, and do not reccomend sitting where we were, it is also a small corridor with a lot of behind the bar traffic, especially severs walking through... The server suggested we use the wall divider to place some of our mussels/clams bowls on, (as otherwise there would not of been room on the table) and I almost caught my sleeve on fire on the candle. I commented to the hostess when she walked through that the seating was terrible, and she did apologize, which was polite of her... but immediaely turned an about face, and walked off. The abruptness made me believe she did not have much else to say, as she probably could of seated us at a table, but had not. I had seen empty tables when we arrived, and guests that looked to be walk ins taking tables throughout our meal. My overly honest approach to the hostess on arrival only caused me to be seated in the small spot... A man appearing to be a manager stopped at our table to let us know the first dessert we ordered was unavailable, which we were okay with. Since the man had stopped and I the hostess shoed so little concern, I commented to him about the seating, he asked had we told the hostess, I said yes. I was told by the man, that they were booked as the hostess had said on arrival (this didn't help after the empty talbes and impromptu seating I had observed during our meal). The man offered dessert on him, which made this experience a bit better, being offered more of an apology. We did manage to enjoy the clams/ mussells , despite the difficult seating. I offered the man an idea to make these tiny tables larger, which he said the idea would come up before, and that he will pass the comment on. I will still go back, but will be careful about seating accepted. Lack of concern by staff, along with poor seating highly impacted my experience. The meal I had at a table the last time I had been to Clark's, gave me nice memories of the meal, and a desire to come back! Not the same feeling at all this visit, but will still try the restaurant again.
Simply outstanding.
You have mastered your culinary art. I am speechless about your restaurant. My husband and I travel all over the world and meet amazing people and eat amazing food. The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was perfection. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Aspen... the same place we celebrated our honeymoon and we could not have been more happy. Rachelle was our server and was outstanding. Sweet, kind, knowledgeable and fast! We ended up going everyday we were there for lunch. The oysters were incredibly delicious and fresh. Her recommendations were spot on every time! The ceviche was out of this world. The wine selection was perfection. THANK YOU for the blessing of your staff members and your exquisite cuisine.

Great Vibe and Excellent Food and Service
The vibe in this restaurant is upbeat and festive. The food was delicious-had mussels and cioppino and both were excellent. Sat by the fireplace which was very romantic. Good people watching.
Love this restaurant so much.
The ambiance, the food, and the folks who helped us were all amazing. Will definitely be back, and also please open one in Boulder lol.

We ate at Clark's at the recommendation of the concierge's, and we were not disappointed whatsoever with the selection and freshness of the oysters that we thoroughly enjoyed. We wanted to try several things, so we split two entrรฉes after our dozen oysters, and then shared two desserts the food and service was amazing and the oysters were definitely the star of the show. I have had them literally plucked out of the ocean and put on my plate and could not tell the difference to the ones in the middle of the mountains of Colorado. My recommendation would be to make a reservation it's a very small restaurant and the cram a lot of people into a small space. If you have a reservation, you will get a larger table then if you try to sit in the bar area, I noticed a lot of people were having trouble keeping their bread and drinks and food on the table because of how small it was so take the time and make a reservation.
Have you ever tasted Mediterranean Branzino?
Clark's Oyster Bar in Aspen came with a hearty endorsement but my wife and I took a pass on the house's two prime specialties, oysters and caviar. Truth be told, the next time I indulge in oysters or caviar at a restaurant, it will be a first. Instead, we opted for two of our favorites, Mediterranean Branzino and New Bedford scallops. I was introduced to Branzino at a restaurant in Sarasota, Florida, a few years ago. Since then, I order the delicious sea bass every time it appears on a menu. Clark's Oyster Bar really hit the spot. Located at 517 East Hyman Road, this chic neighborhood eatery with a great raw bar opened in 2018 and has been a popular lunch and dinner destination ever since. Open from 11:30 to 9:30 daily, it specializes in house baked sourdough, lobster rolls and fresh fish. Especially Branzino. We started with jumbo shrimp cocktail with horseradish, a bowl of New England clam chowder with bacon and Clark's Wedge salad with Nieman Ranch bacon lardons, hardboiled farm egg, red onion, buttermilk dressing and three jumbo cocktail shrimp. For her entree, my wife chose pan seared New Bedford sea scallops with roasted cauliflower and shoestring potatoes with rosemary and garlic. I couldn't wait for my grilled whole Mediterranean Branzino to arrive at our table with marbled potatoes with chimichurri and grilled Tuscan kale with parmesan. The dessert menu was a treat, too. We finally agreed to share a key lime tart with blueberry compote and a chocolate mousse parfeit.
