Calvert's Restaurant Augusta Reviews
Definitely on the pricey side.
If you looking for a place to wine and dine, and feel like you are rich, this is your place. Started off with a sazerac (which is their oldest bourbon drink) and Rockefeller oysters. The Sazerac is definitely a strong drink which paired well with the oysters. As for the main meal........ Grilled Sea Bass Charleston with Cast Iron Sea Scallops and brocollini! Man this fish was so smooth and lightly creamy, it just melted on your tongue. So flavorful and filling. Squeezed a little of the lemon on top and it was perfection. Like I said earlier, this place is on the pricey side. For me alone, it cost me $170. That was me not asking for more bourbon. The scallops were extra on the dish to be added, so that brought the price higher too. All in all, a great experience and even better server. If I would come back to this location, it would solely be to have Warren as our server. He made the night so much better for the experience by being himself. He made the night so special, even though we were celebrating a birthday, we literally closed the place down. He opened up in conversation and the rest was history. We ended up leaving an hour and a half after they scheduled to close because he wanted to ensure we were taken care of. To have a server bring the best ambience to our environment, was so special to have. I will promise you, if you go to this restaurant, ask for Warren to be your server. You won't be disappointed!!! Definitely coming back.
Perfect atmosphere!
We were there to celebrate a 70th birthday and the staff made us feel like we were family. So welcoming and accommodating for our family of 12. Food was outstanding and no words for the amazing, thoughtful service we received. Thank you Calvert’s for making our celebration perfect!

Place is quaint which is a nice way of saying in need of repairs. The food is expensive and unfortunately except for the desert not worth the price. It was disappointing.
Superb in every way
Superb in every way- 1. atmosphere 2. service. 3. presentation of food 4. quality and flavor of food. Expensive, but worth it for a special dinning experience.
Very Special Celebratory Dinner
Went to dinner here for an anniversary. The food was pricey but very good. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The decor and vibe of the restaurant was a bit dated but seemed clean. We received a free desert for our anniversary celebration and was the best part of our meal! Getting the chocolate roulade is a must!
Excellent service, great food, well seasoned and great
Excellent service, great food, well seasoned and great ambiance. We were a group of 30+ people, our server were friendly, attentive and dinner was served in a timely manner. I highly recommend Calvert's Restaurant.
Extremely disappointing
For the $144 I paid I at least expect a mediocre meal but Calverts fell way short. I was served the worst Ossining Buco I have ever had. If it was truly veal, which I doubt, it was the toughest and most fatty veal I ever had while it was lacking in flavor. My wife’s seared tuna stake was over cooked, dry and also lacked any semblance of flavor. Our four other friends also were unhappy with the quality of their dishes as well. The place seems alway pact but for the life of me, I have no idea why. I certainly will never return. On a positive note, the service was very good. If you like good service and very bad food, by all means go to Calverts otherwise head elsewhere.
Went to calverts today for a group event.
It was our second time coming here and I recall it being a bit better a few months ago. Overall give it just below 3.5/5. Appetizers (4/5): For appetizers we had the crab cakes, grilled mushrooms with cheese, shrimp cocktail, and bread/butter. The shrimp were all very plump and tender. Couldn't be much better. The grilled mushrooms were juicy and had a mild taste with the melted cheese. Our group really enjoyed them. The crab cakes were incredibly soft and flaky. The rolls were soft and had a sweet taste and went well with the butter. Solid startSalad (2.5/5): The house salad was pretty average. Very thick cream sauce over standard lettuce. The shredded carrots still tasted a bit frozen. Craisins helped it out but overall it was a letdown compared to the appetizers. Filet mignon (2.5/5): I ordered a medium rare steak but got a well done steak (pictured below). It was quite dry and under-seasoned. The potato gratin it came in was very smooth and well cooked, but it was not enough to salvage a steak entree which should at baseline be prepared at the requested level of doneness. It was beyond overcooked. Chocolate roulade (4.5/5): very light textured chocolate mousse cake. The frosting was not overwhelmingly sweet and there were tiny little flecks (possibly chocolate or cookie crumbs?) that added a very nice gritty texture to contrast the soft cake. Great dessert item and will get it again in the future. Service was excellent, no issues there. Appetizers and dessert were by far the highlight of the meal. We will definitely return as a group in the future, and I hope that the steak is cooked at the desired doneness at that time. At $40 for a filet mignon, I really expect it to be cooked at the requested temperature. A decent restaurant otherwise.
Amazing foot and service! We've been going here for 40+
Amazing foot and service! We've been going here for 40+ years, but haven't since the pandemic. Our food (Filet Mignon for me, Chicken Roulade for hubby) was amazing! We shared a bottle of Pinot Noir that was great, along with Chocolate Roulade for dessert. Everything was great, and the service was superb!
Fantastic Experience!
We almost didn't go, having read some recent reviews. But we've loved Calvert's for 40+ years, so decided to try it again. I had the Filet with mushrooms and hubby had the chicken roulade-both were wonderful! We shared a nice bottle of Pinot Noir, and finished with sharing the chocolate roulade for dessert! Everything was fantastic; can't wait to go back! The staff was great too, very attentive!
Delicious meals and excellent service
We were there with a large group of friends. We had a separate room. The Calvert’s servers were great, always attentive to our needs. I had a large delicious tenderloin and my wife had a stuffed chicken breast. The steak was perfectly cooked. It was tender and savory. My wife reported she had never had a stuffed chicken breast this phenomenal. All of our friends had nothing but great things to say of the Calvert’s meal and servers.
