Blue Bayou Restaurant Anaheim Reviews
Blue Bayou has always been a must when we go to Disneyland.
This visit was excellent as always. We were seated before our actual reservation time. Our server Tim was amazing. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and even made sure my grandson got a birthday candle on the dessert we ordered for him. We will be back again next visit to Disneyland!
Food was good, service was good, ambience was a little dark
Food was good, service was good, ambience was a little dark but you are in pirates so I guess it has to be,it's only water dining if you get a table at the end, which we did not otherwise we would've had to wait an extra hour even with reservations,it's very expensive $60 a steak, the bread and butter was pretty good but that's gonna cost you $12 I've never had to pay for bread at a higher end restaurant, that will be my last time there,Disneyland is gauging you for every cent you have Walt would be rolling over in his grave

We had reservations at 8:40pm, the hostess in front was swamped with park goers. I think they need to have 2 lines: one for reservation check in and a separate for "walk in/standby" because it gets pretty frustrating. We didn't get seated for 20-25 minutes after check in which sort of bummed me out considering we made reservations, but what can you do. The ambiance of this place is nice. It doesn't feel like you're inside a theme park which is great. It feels like you've been transported to Louisiana at someone's nice backyard looking at the swamp aka "the pirates ride" which is really neat. Our server's name was Mei, she was great; very attentive and kind and made sure our water glasses were full. Food Appetizer - crab cakes - this was probably the best thing we had from their menu. Decent portion of crab, it was tasty and flavorful. Entree - lemon basil pesto pasta and the ribeye - the pasta is vegan but I added shrimp. The shrimp was just boiled in plain water because it had no flavor, but the pasta itself was pretty good for what it was, I just don't think it was worth the price of $29, plus $7 or so to add the shrimp. The ribeye had good potatoes and it was seasoned well, we got it medium, but the unusual part was the bourbon sauce it was smothered in. I do wish they put it on the side because I wanted to taste the grill on the steak. Typically a good steak doesn't need the "A1 sauce", so it would've been good on the side. Dessert - creme brรปlรฉe - I'd skip this. It was not good at all, it was more of a fruit tart, but not a good fruit tart. The cookie portion around it was pretty stale, there was more of that than the actual brรปlรฉe itself, not worth the $10. Overall, it was neat experience, but we wouldn't come back. With so many other good eats in the area, this place is pretty dated and overpriced for what it is. Thankfully, we had a small discount because we're passholders, but still not worth the steep cost of roughly $200 for everything pictured.
We had an amazing dinner in the blue bayou this year.
They seated us right on the edge of the restaurant so we could hear all the chirping and buzzing of the bayou. Normally we get seated somewhere in the middle where it's loud with chatter and dishes clanging but not this time. The monte cristo did not disappoint and neither did the steak.
Great meal.
Crab cakes and ribeye were excellent. Dining room is lovely. Service was great. Nothing at all to complain about. Highly recommend.

Best in the Park! If you visit Disneyland, this is one of those places you just have to try once. It's one of those places you just have to see on your bucket list because of the amazing feelings. I had to book two months in advance, and there's very little chance you'll be able to stroll in and obtain a table. My reservation was made ten minutes in advance, and we were seated promptly. Along with great service, I had a delicious cup of chicken gumbo. I was pretty pleased with the gumbo, which had large bits of chicken and sausage in it. I would absolutely suggest ordering it. All in all, it is undoubtedly a unique experience, and you can start a conversation by mentioning that you've eaten in the Pirates of Caribbean ride. Great Ambiance.

Had an AMAZING time! Came for my birthday and it was nothing short of excellent. Our server was David from Ontario and he is probably one of the best servers I've had for service anywhere. He gave great insight, had a wonderful attitude and made my birthday that much more special. By far one of my best birthdays ever
I highly recommend the Fantasmic dining package here
We opted for the Fantasmic dining package and we were not disappointed. The food was very good. My husband upgraded his meal for an additional $10 and loved the filet. I had a delicious sea bass and loved the starter salad as well as the amazing chocolate tarte for dessert. We had reservations so we did not have to wait long (15-20 minutes) and our seats were near the water where the Pirates of the Caribbean ride passes by. The ambience was lovely, with hanging lights setting the mood. And I was pleasantly surprised with the 2 souvenir mule cups we also received with the package. But even more impressive was the area that we were able to watch Fantasmic from because of the dining package. It was PHENOMENAL. Literally, front row to all of the gorgeous pirotechnics and live-action songs. One of my favorites still!

I had a trip planned to Disneyland and was craving the Monte Christo sandwich. For months I had been looking for an opening that aligned with our reservations and found none - they were completely booked. Luckily on the day of our visit I gave it one more try, and was thrilled to see an opening at 9 pm! Sadly, the dinner menu didn't include the sandwich - so ordered the filet mignon instead. Maybe I didn't speak loud enough when I asked for the steak to be medium well, but when it arrived the steak had burned edges and was completely gray inside. It was so dry I couldn't swallow it without water. I didn't complain because it was near closing time. The service on the other hand was completely stellar. Nobody's drink was ever below the halfway mark. The servers were wonderful. If for service alone, this would have been 5 stars, but I was really disappointed in the food -- especially for such a coveted and expensive restaurant. It was a good memory for my family, but it will be a long time, if ever, before I'd go back
Surprisingly disappointing.
My family each ordered a ribeye that was overcooked and the quality of the meat wasn't that good. The alcoholic drinks were too sweet and the texture of the creme brรปlรฉe wasn't that good. Even the coffee was okay at best. I've been to this restaurant before and had a great time. If this was my first time at the restaurant, and this is what they charged, I would've never gone back.
Food not great
Beautiful setting. Food bizarre! Montecristo option was a weird deep fried cheese/ham sandwich with strawberry jam. Setting nice but just eat elsewhere
Famous New Orleans-Style Ambiance Monte Cristo
When we visit Disneyland, our trip wouldn't be complete without dining at the Blue Bayou Restaurant! The number one reason is the Monte Cristo sandwich. It is the most delicious meal, second to none! It's like having breakfast, dinner, and dessert all in one! The "bread" is actually a Disney-famous beignet, sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with a fabulous fruit compote dipping sauce. You won't be disappointed! Plus, while you savor the Monte Cristo, you'll be seated close to the waterfront of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. You simply cannot go wrong with this kind of New Orleans-style ambiance.
FYI - DO NOT GO HERE FOR THE FOOD! Ambience only.
This is absolutely the most COSTLY and WORST food in the park! I recommend it only for a drink to enjoy the beautiful ambience. Always ask to sit where you can see the passing boats otherwise youโve just wasted your reservation. Enjoy and donโt say I didnโt warn you.
Well worth the money in our opinion!
This was our best meal at disneyland by far! We reserved a spot 60 days out as we heard it gets busy, but we did hear other people walk up and get a table fairly easily. We requested a table on the water and only waited ten minutes to be seated there so do ask if you want to get a spot watching the boats go by! We got the Monte cristo and Creole chicken and were absolutely blown away. Both were so flavourful, fresh, and piping hot. The portions were so big we couldn't finish, unfortunately, but the quality was so good we took the rest home! The only thing better than the food was the atmosphere. Situated inside the pirates of the Caribbean ride, you'll watch a constant stream of boats riding down the bayou. With the dark mock sky and floating lanterns it really does feel like you're sitting outside on a new Orleans Night. We paid ยฃ100 for two main meals, a soft drink, cocktail and tip and we would do it again in a heartbeat.
Slow and rude
Maybe we were just there on a bad night, maybe some staff had unexpected called out, I donโt know. But we had an experience here that was memorable in a bad way. Service was exceptionally slow. I think we had 3-4 different servers come to our table so again, maybe they were short staffed that night but as a result things started to go sideways. My neurodivergent child started to get restless with all the waiting for our food to arrive and was scolded by a staff person. I am sure being in the presence of a hangry disabled/neurodivergent child was unpleasant for the staff and other patrons, but instead of scolding him for behavior he canโt help, maybe try bringing the food out in a reasonable timeframe and moving our table along more quickly so we can leave? My dish was literally cold by the time it arrived and for the first time in my life I considered sending it back to be re-warmed, but I did not, obviously, because the meal was already taking long enough and I felt really unwelcome there and eager to leave.
Food was TERRIBLE, misadvertised and so unhealthy
I have always wanted to try the Blue Bayou because the Pirates of the Caribbean is my favourite ride. I booked it online 60 days out from our trip. Was so excited for it. I could have not been more disappointed. I chose lunch specifically for the monte christo sandwich which I thought would appeal to my 17-year-old daughter who was my travel companion. I googled it ahead of time, saw that it was a grilled ham and cheese sandwich served with fresh fruit only served at lunch. $31 for a sandwich is steep but whatever, itโs Disneyland. We both ordered it. ALERT: the monte cristo is a MASSIVE DONUT. A plate of deep fried dough is all it is with a bit of ham and cheese inside. So incredibly gross and unhealthy. It must have had 2,000 calories to it in deep fried dough. Sickening. Moreover, despite what it said on the menu, there was no fresh โseasonal fruitโ. Just a bit of overdressed lettuce. When I asked the server where the โseasonal fruitโ was, she said there was some dried fruit sprinkled on the salad. Excuse me? That is not โseasonal fruitโ. Disneyland, this is misleading and a massive, grossly unhealthy , fail. I come there fully prepared to be ridiculously overcharged, however a reasonable amount of quality is expected. I felt bad for the server. And even more bad for myself. Disney, FIX THIS.
It's probably been at least 2 or 3 Pirates renovations
It's probably been at least 2 or 3 Pirates renovations since my last Blue Bayou dining experience, so roughly 10 years? I don't recall the place being as hard a reservation to get, to be honest. Remember being able to walk-up and find seats most of the time; must be different post-Covid. Tried to get dining reservations 30 days out and kept looking every day, but no luck. Somehow, I stumbled on the 8pm reservation around lunch time IN THE PARK while we were waiting for Space Mountain. Go figure. Ambiance is as cool as I remember it. Menu looks more higher-end than I recall too. Went with a Brussels sprouts salad, filet, and pesto pasta for the wife and I to share. She was more concerned that we could get one of the Crรจme Brรปlรฉe Tarts at the end of the meal than the meal itself. I had noted to myself to avoid the prime rib, as I didn't think previous post photos looked any good (lots of comments that it's overcooked and not worthwhile). Filet was fantastic, as was the pasta. Ended up being perfect portions for 2 with the 2 entrees and salad to start. Crรจme brรปlรฉe tart at the end is worth the price of admission too. Topped off with a glass of wine and our bill was just under 100 per person. On a 1-10 scale of "good food," I would probably rate this close to a 7. Definitely not a fine dining experience, but you pay the convenience fee of a decent sit-down restaurant with an actual menu. Servers are super friendly and kept checking in on us, though bussers seem to be in a rush to get plates off your table.
Ambience was beautiful like it always has.
Service was terrible, food was bad. My wife and I waited 7 long years to finally get a reservation to eat here since the last time we got in. How much of a waste it was to go here. My wife ordered the Cajun roasted chicken dry as the Mojave desert. The prime rib I ordered was to be medium rare. Again came out dry as the Mojave. The only good thing we had was the chicken gumbo. The service assistant came and took my sprite before I even paid and left with giving me a refill. I would not recommend going here.

Growing up, I used to love this place so much! A salad or a cup of gumbo was included with your entree in the good old days. Nowadays, the menu seems so pared back. I do appreciate the plant-based options. I went for the plant-based pistachio pesto pasta this time, but the noodles were so mushy! They also added in way too many pepper flakes, which really took away from the pesto. Service was professional, as always. I think I'll still come back here because I love the ambiance, but it's just not what it used to be.
The setting, the nostalgia the service was all amazing.
The prices were fair. The food however was nothing to write home about and the portions were small. Will I go back? Of course. Will I just get one of the cheapest things on the menu. Also yes.
This is a must every time we go to Disneyland!!!! The
This is a must every time we go to Disneyland!!!! The monte crisco served during lunch is my absolute favorite, but all the food is good for a theme park. We love the fact it's inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride! I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the food is very good but definitely not the best you ever had....and getting in can be difficult. You have to have reservations booked out months in advance or you can try to get on the wait list as a walk up but it's not easy. I checked my Disney genie app all day and I got to add onto the waitlist right before 5 pm it opened up then closed min after....the service is good but again not totally amazing....your getting a good experience and good food for an expected price at a theme park. Again everything is really enjoyable and that's why we return but there are things that make it so it just doesn't reach the 5 star mark for me. I feel if you go in knowing what to expect you will enjoy yourself but if you have super high expectations it will fall short, in my opinion. I hope this helps you decide if it's a try or not for you in the future! Enjoy and happy dining
What a COOL looking restaurant - Like Sitting on the Bayou
It looks like you are eating outside even though you are inside. A river runs along side the eating area with boats of people. Turns out the ride is the start of Pirates of the Caribbean! The food we had was very good and the ambience was really cool. One of us had a filet with deviled crab on top - it was fantastic! Everyone elseโs food was delicious as well. The service was perfect. A really fun atmosphere, but it is dark with cook lights hanging overhead.
I broke my long hiatus from Disneyland this year thankfully
I broke my long hiatus from Disneyland this year thankfully with my lovely and wonderful boyfriend DiDi hehe. Like the true gentleman that he is, he took me to a fancy meal at one of the most popular places in the park - blue bayou! I overall loved my experience here, but there were several reasons for the 3 stars, let's get started with the food. Food: the hurricane cocktail was deliciously sweet, and they did a fantastic job of hiding the alcohol taste. I definitely felt the rush of alcohol by the end of our glass, but the ethanol taste was barely present when gulping it down. We got the Mardi Gras special menu to share together, I think the course would actually be enough for 3 people since we couldn't finish the dishes. Appetizer corndogs were alright and interestingly shaped into 3 big balls, the sausage inside had a little bit of spicy kick to it, which we liked. But the greens that were served with the corndog was uhhhh interesting to say the least, it was tough in texture and peppery and just not salad-y like I expected. Main entree ribeye and shrimps were cooked really well and great texture, juicy and tender, but they overseasoned it so much that they both tasted so salty! This is exactly how heart failure patients end up in the hospital, by eating meals with this much salt, goodness gracious The cherry cheesecake for dessert was just... fine, it tasted exactly like cherry cheesecake, nothing really special here. It was wrapped in Mardi Gras color themed edible chocolate, which made it pretty but didn't add anything to the flavor profile Price: cocktail was about $15 and the Mardi Gras special course was about $90. Wow I knew Disneyland was expensive but this is ridiculously expensive for the quality of food we received, I suppose the ambiance and mood and the disney brand really jacked up the prices here Ambiance: the best part of the whole restaurant, wow wow wow it's beautiful in here. Dimly lit with beautiful lanterns stringed above, you can see the waters and people on the ride for Pirates of Carribean cruising by. Very big space inside and well maintained, loved the bayou vibes. So romantic and so fancy and so luxurious, it felt like a dream to be eating here with my favorite person in the world! Service: chipper happy waiters and waitresses who greet you with big big smiles. They were gracious to let us in after a short 20 minutes wait time even as a walk in and no reservations. It did sorta seem like our waitress was a little hasty to get us out of the restaurant though, she kept asking if we had gotten our next course of the meal and if we had put down a card on the check, but I understand this is a very busy place that needs quick turnover Parking: ah yes Disneyland, just remember where you parked so you don't go wandering with your tired feet at the end of the day
Love the ambiance of this place, first time coming here.
Food was excellent and portions were bigger than I was expecting. Servers were very friendly and they checked on us pretty frequently for refills, if we wanted any other foods. It is a little pricey but worth it.
I've been wanting to go here for as long as I can remember.
Got a notification at about 5 o'clock in the morning on mouse watcher app and quickly booked the reservation for my son's 21st birthday. I didn't get seated by the water I got seated by the bathroom. We were a party of five. Our server was spectacular. However, the man who seated us was rude and seemed irritated. The food was not a big deal to me, but the drinks and dessert were good. The bill was a couple hundred dollars so it's a little bit pricey but that's expected. It is Disneyland. Will probably come back again and hopefully get seated by the water and order something else.
Honestly this place is a little over rated , over priced
Honestly this place is a little over rated , over priced for the food , I've only gotten a few items and the only one that was worth going back in my opinion is the steak but they constantly change the menu so it's kind of a hit and miss here . The last time was a horrible experience and the time before that was great. I believe people just make it seem more than what it is and if you don't get the table near the attraction , it's honestly like any other restaurant. I prefer lamplight lounge
Awesome but Expensive
If it's one thing Disney does well it's food. (Provided you are willing to pay extremely excessive prices) The food was AMAZING My family had the roast chicken, gumbo, kids menu spaghetti, the prime rib, and the filet minion, with chocolate cheesecake for desert. The ambiance was fun, the server was attentive and read his tables very well. Best experience we had in the parks (Ask for a water table, it's worth the extra wait)
For a restaurant that requires reservations to be made 3
For a restaurant that requires reservations to be made 3 months in advance, you'd expect the food to be above average. My sister, husband, and I ended up sharing 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, which ended up being a good amount for the three of us. We ordered the gumbo, blackened shrimp, ribeye, and penne pasta. I'd say the gumbo and rib eye were the most flavorful out of the 4. The service and drinks were ok. Would I come back? Probably not, unless the seats were guaranteed near the water.
Favorite Disneyland Restaurant
We love the ambiance at this restaurant, and it is a favorite for special celebrations. Service is always excellent, and love that they accommodate dietary restrictions exceptionally well. The gluten free, plant based creme brรปlรฉe is amazing. Wish the menu had more variety... but the fact that they work well with dietary restrictions trumps the limited menu.
Check in was a little rough good thing the food is great
Ok the food was phenomenal. But we had a reservation. I checked in online. We got a text that โit was time to dine!โ We tried to talk to a guy at the door who was swarmed with walk ins. He said if you got a text then go inside and wait to get called. We waited a long time. Finally another lady with an iPad called our name and she got us officially โin lineโ but then we sat longer as every walk in we saw stroll up got seated before us. So that was disorganized and disappointing. Well we learned, donโt waste your time checking in online, just talk to a person with a tablet. But the food was great. We couldnโt see the pirate ride at all. Will dine there again but we are from Indiana so it will be awhile. AND Iโll handle the check in differently. Seems to me people with reservations should ALWAYS be taken before walk ins are seated.
5/5 I always try to get a reservation here when weโre at Disneyland!
As long as you follow the instructions on getting a reservation here, you will have no problem getting one at the time you want. We opted for an 11am time as we wanted the best opportunity to get into the water cue. We sat water side, ordered the bayou lemonade with the glow cube to drink. Our family had one vegetarian, and we love that there are a few plant based options to choose from. Our server was incredible and so was the food!
Worst experience
Disappointing experience. We were able to get a 9:30pm reservation which was a huge mistake. Itโs obvious the staff was ready to go home. Our server Traci was NOT happy to be there. She shouldnโt be working at the happiest place on earth. She was rude, hurried us through. We were seated snd check in hand in 40 minutes. Not the experience we were hoping for. Food was just okay. We went for the experience and atmosphere. We would have been better off with the corn dogs on the street. Traci ruined what was supposed to be a wonderful night with family celebrating our sonโs birthday. We wonโt be back and I would not recommend it to others.
Peaceful dinner away from the hustle and bustle!
Nice table by the water. Friendly and efficient waiter. Food was good. I had the creole chicken and creme brรปlรฉe, friend had the filet and chocolate tart. Both meals and desserts were good. The Hurricanes were divine! Yum!
Amazing Cuisine - FINALLY!!
We were amazed!!! After years of below par, lackluster cuisine, The Blue Bijou FINALLY has an amazing chef serving fantastic food! This signature, premium in-park dining location finally has a menu and delicious food to match its beautiful setting. From our perfectly balanced, crisp and delicious salad of toasted quinoa, blue cheese, grapes and cranberries, to our creative and top notch sea bass with shaved fresh coconut, peanuts, dried fruit and a complex tropical blure blanc, and our sublime basque cheesecake - it was outstanding. Yes, it is very expensive, but the quality matches the cuisine. Our server was also outstanding, brining us a beautiful plate of fresh lemons and a mound of fresh mint to supplement our partyโs mint juleps. Our only disappointment was the lackluster bread service for an astronomical $12 - it was undersized and underwhelming. It did however, include my favorite French butter. So rush to this bright star of Disneyland food offerings before management transfers this talented chef somewhere else, because this is FINALLY the food quality this location deserves to serve. Bravo.
Lovely place with average food
The Blue Bayou is located in Disneyland, if you don't have a Disneyland Park ticket you are not getting in. Make reservations and make them as soon as you make your park reservations. Even then you will still be waiting. It is next to impossible to get a table without a reservation. It is considered fine dinning and the prices reflect that, you will spent at least 50$ per person just for an entrรฉe. If you want a starter or dessert that is going to cost you more. Their drinks are very pricey. All of it is over priced and I would never go except for the beauty of the place. That is the reason to go. Inside it is super pretty and you will be able to see the Pirates of the Caribbean ride go by. It looks like a lovely lake and it is quiet and peaceful. After a day of rides and junk food, you will be happy to be there. The food is average. It is a limited menu. If you are vegan or vegetarian don't bother. There is not one thing on the menu that you could not get at a good moderate priced place. The food looks pretty, it just is not great. Nonetheless, we have been many times. We love the break from the noise and the quiet of the man made lake. It really is quite beautiful. The service is fine, nothing to scream home about. They come get your order, drop it and you may not see them again. They need to work on this and hire more people. So, I just said a lot of things that may make you want to run, but go once and not only will you know what I mean, you will also be able to check it off your bucket list.
Must do
Was there for lunch on the 9th November asked for a waterside table and got one . Food was good service was great and ambience great

The ambiance is the best, over looking pirates of the Caribbean ride. We did the Fantasmic special dinner. Only down side is as no Monte cristo served at dinner anymore. Service was excellent. Filet mignon was as tasty. Ribeye was excellent. Mushroom ragout was good. Desserts on point all of them. You really come here for the ambience but the meal is a nice plus.
So it was exciting to find put we were gonna get a chance
So it was exciting to find put we were gonna get a chance to eat here on a disney visit...And then we did...Meh, overrated. When ur a big pirates of the carribean ride fan, you always get curious about that restaurant on the side as you wait in the line...how cool it would be to eat there, right? Well, don't be so optimistic tho. LolSo 1st...must have a reservation ..and that is not easy to get2nd...cramped spacing for what it is and also, its not as bayou as you would think. Does not feel outdoorsy on a bayou, just low key new orleans style sit in restaurant.3rd...possible long wait depends on how busy they are. Start with drinks and water as you look at the menu. 4th...their menu is simple and does not really offer alot...drinks selection is kinda weak also esp if ypu wanna think new orleans square vibes. They do serve a comp bread for the table to pick at.Their hurricane cocktails LOOK GOOD but kinda suck for the pricey cost, all drink, no fun inside...probably need 2 just to make up for the 1.I ended up getting a beer just because.they have wine if thats ur thing.5th... you are there with your kids and family so u wanna make sure the kids eat. They got 'kids meals' but its not ideal for kids cause they try to get fancy. My 9 yr old chose roasted chicken...my 3 yr old shared with him and picked at our plates, so get the right options on the kids meal i.e. fruit/veggies6th...their simple menu is kinda shee shee, wannabe posh. I mean its disneyland trying to offer that fancy creole vibe but i feel like, good food is good food and atmosphere should all add up but this place is waaaayyy overrated for what it is. All criticism aside... we ordered:* Filet Mignon meal... meat was small, cooked properly, came with veggies and potatoes...presentation was great, ive had better.* The Monte Cristo and Seasonal Salad ...think panini meal, it was surprisingly bommmm, get it. I mean, Its a ham and chicken sandwhich but really tasty. You can share it with 2 people. *Gumbo ...hella hella small serving, its A CUP size, get 2 of em right off the bat, its good but small*scallops ...tasty, get thisLook, if you go out and eat fancy dining, good for you and you know this IS overrated. If you are a simple eating type of person then you will prob think this food here is like, ohhh myyy gawddd ...this food and presentation is more for foodies who think their IG is a big deal and that their filtered photos translates to how good their food tastes. In closing....you should definitely try out the Blue Bayou and cross it off ypur disneyland trip, just don't be so optimistic after looking at their online menu and making it a bigger deal than what it is
Always opt for the montacristo (sp?).
.. fun drinks in a mellow, chill atmosphere that lets you take a quick break from the hectic day that is Disney.
I REALLY wanted to love this place.
I made a reservation 60 days in advance and was really excited for it. Seems like your table can make or break your experience. We had one at the stairs of the restaurant. Lots of traffic and no view whatsoever. PROS: the hurricane drink tasted really good. The corn and poblano fitters were also very good. Cons: the ribeye was very charred. So charred it left residue on my husbands mouth. The shrimp in the chicken dish was cold. I got the sea bass special. The fish was more gray than white and the presentation was lacking (white fish on a bed of white rice. Very bland looking.) the pineapple topping was delicious though. $230 for a dinner for 3 (2 adults and 1 kid who ate off the adult menu ) 2 drinks. One appetizer. 3 entrees. That's a lot of money for a lackluster experience. Would definitely not go again.
Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to visit this place.
Last night my dream finally came true. It didn't disappoint. I loved seeing people on Pirates of the Caribbean pass by as we were having dinner. The service was great! May recommended wine to pair with our dinner, she was very nice and friendly. The ambiance is romantic and quiet. They don't have loud music playing and it really helps you enjoy your dinner. We got the fantasmic package with our dinner and were able to be front row to the show after dinner. It was a perfect evening.
We had an excellent experience here.
Our party was right next to the water, server was very attentive and humorous. Everyone thought their food was great. Yes, more expensive than the same meal outside of Disney but some of these reviews had me worried we'd be hurling on the way out. I think people are too neurotic about their Disney experience having to be nonstop ecstasy and they needlessly bag on this place. I'd 100% return.

I have been to coming to Disneyland for a long time my family and I have always wanted to try the Blue Bayou. My favorite ride is Pirates of the Caribbean and taking the boat and seeing the restaurant it's always been a dream to go in there. My family and I were able to get a reservation. It was definitely an experience my dad and I had the monte Crisco sandwich It is a deep fried sandwich with powdered sugar which was so good. It had apricot sauce and vanilla sauce on the side. It was a weird combination but it was so good! I highly recommend coming here
After exiting Pirates of the Caribbean my brother and I
After exiting Pirates of the Caribbean my brother and I tried to have my birthday dinner here. Michelle was the hostess up front and informed me that the the restaurant was booked for the night, but to come back to see if there were any cancellations. We tried a short time later and were able to get a table. We ordered the salad, scallops, bone in rib-eye Oscar style, filet mignon. Basque cheesecake, and creme brรปlรฉe. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted absolutely delicious. We each ordered a glass of Silver Oak cabernet to pair with our steaks. Our waitress was Desiree and she did a phenomenal job. She was knowledgeable of the menu and was very friendly. At the end of our meal, Desiree shared some stories of her time working for Disneyland.Thank you so much Michelle and Desiree for your kindness and hospitality! You made our Disney experience even more memorable.
I wanted to LOVE this place, I really did.
I only like it.I have started to become a foodie at Disney and try all the fancy restaurants and food places at Disney and California Adventure. Between the two parks, this restaurant is mediocre. There's nothing exciting about it aside from eating near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. As a kid, I always remember people eating at the restaurant, after 30+ years, I finally tried it and meh.It doesn't live up to the hype. My favorite item was the gumbo, but you can order that at other restaurants within the park. They did not offer jambalaya when I went; instead, they had a weird chicken plate in its place. I don't like it when restaurants change their menu. The roasted chicken was fine, just too expensive for what it is. The creme brรปlรฉe was pretty tasty.I made a reservation months in advance only to be sat next to the kitchen where there was constant noise. There was nothing romantic about my experience, the constant kitchen noise ruined the atmosphere for me.I won't return. Too disappointing for a reservation that you need months in advance and for $100+ meal. No thanks.
Disappointing dinner celebration
Excited to finally eat at this iconic restaurant for my daughters birthday. Made reservations two months out. Arrived a little early and had to wait for our table though walk-ins weโre being seated. Table was next to restroom and server station. Our server seemed in a hurry, was not friendly, messed up our order and forgot we ordered dessert. Our incorrect entrees were served an hour after we ordered. When desserts came out they were plopped on the table (the macaroons in a generic plastic box) with no mention of happy birthday to my daughter (the reason for the special occasion). They did take off the forgotten desserts and discounted our late food and incorrect entrees. Very disappointed and wonโt be back. There are much better experiences at city walk and around the theme parks.

After 10+ years of riding Pirates of the Caribbean and always wanting to eat here, we finally got a reservation. Even with a reservation at 6:30 pm we were seated at 7:15 and had to wait in the crowded sitting area for 45 minutes. They workers in the lobby were a bit rude and short with us when we checked in and asked when we were going to be seated. We were then sat at a table surrounded by loud families. Not a good start. But the food is what made this earn a couple of points from me. The mint julep, gumbo, and filet mignon was excellent. The best food at Disneyland no doubt. Overall, service was not good. This was the first time at Disneyland I have not felt welcomed or taken care of. The food though was great and made us forget about the frustrating start. This might have been my first time here but might be my last time. I will enjoy the Blue Bayou from a distance next time on the pirates ride.
Going to the Blue Bayou is always a special treat.
It's hard to snag a reservation but keep trying back as sometimes they have same day cancellations in the app or they can add you to the Walk Up list. Easier during mid-week less crowded of course. The food and sit down table service are a big reason to come here. The staff are friendly and will recommend things off the menu. Of course the best part is being in the A/C with view of the pirates of the Caribbean boats that slowly float by. Pro Tip: The night sky also has a shooting star that goes by every 15 second or so (magic). Now for the food - they have filets, chicken and some fish as well as the Gumbo for an appetizer. I would qualify the entrees are mostly like you would expect at a nice wedding service. The gumbo appetizer is good but small. The filet is good from prior visits but nothing superb like Ruth Chris' or anything. We tried the Monte Cristo sandwich this time as it is unique. I really enjoyed it as it was plenty of food with a nice salad. My partner enjoyed the scallops appetizer as her meal and was pleased. The dessert options are good but our server offered that you can get plenty of dessert within the park later so don't necessarily need to get some here. Lastly, they have alcohol - which is rare within Disneyland Park - used to be the only place besides Club 33 but now Star Wars land offers some drinks in Ogas Cantina. Anyway, this place is worth a sit down splurge. Enjoy

Went on 3/4 to celebrate my daughter's birthday and our time slot was 9:45. For the price you pay, I expect high quality and good tasting steak-I got neither. The steak was over cooked and the portion was small. Getting a corn dog is a better option.
